Séverine Louvel is an HDR lecturer in sociology at Sciences Po Grenoble and a junior member of the Institut Universitaire de France since 2019. Since 2022, she has been the director of the Régulations team of the PACTE laboratory.

Her research is in the field of social studies of science and sociology of health, with a particular interest in the study of interdisciplinary work in contexts of scientific and biomedical innovation.

Its two main lines of research focus on :

1/ the study of interdisciplinary cooperation and tensions in so-called "biosocial" research involving biology, epidemiology, social sciences of health, data sciences and physicians. This biosocial research aims to understand the biological and social dimensions of health trajectories: in order to study the social determinants of health on a population scale; or to reform, in health care contexts, the modalities of patient management. For this axis, S. Louvel has been conducting investigations on the biosocial agendas of environmental and social epigenetics since 2015.

2/ The study of the work of putting data into health research: on the one hand, to produce, process, relate and interpret heterogeneous data (clinical, genomic, sometimes "real life" data collected by patients); on the other hand to use these data in medical contexts. The TraGenInnov project is part of this second axis.
