NPF is a medical doctor and economist, and a research director at Inserm, where she leads the "Primary Care and Prevention" team. Specializing in health services research, over the past 10 years she has focused on the use of care by people with disabilities and polypathologies, and on over-medicalization, particularly in Alzheimer's disease, using medico-administrative databases. She is also interested in the question of user and patient preferences in care choices, and in shared medical decision-making. Her interest in gender in healthcare is more recent, stemming from a realization that people's use of healthcare, their choices and the practices of healthcare professionals may vary in relation to gender attributes and/or prejudices.
